WILSON OKAMOTO CORPORATION provided civil engineering services for the Waimano Home water system. The existing water system, owned by the State Department of Health (DOH) and maintained under contract by the Board of Water Supply (BWS), was antiquated and did not meet BWS standards. DOH upgraded the existing system so it could be turned over to the BWS.
Improvements to the system included the upgrade of 5,000 linear feet of transmission/distribution lines, upgrade of the existing well building and electrical system to meet BWS standards. The project also included the renovation of the existing booster pump station building, paving of 1,150 linear feet of access driveway to the water tank and the installation of 23 fire hydrants, water meters and back-flow preventers.
