Law & Wilson

The partnership of Law & Wilson was formed by Robert M. Law, AIA and James B. Wilson, SE with a total of seven employees. Firm provided architectural and various engineering services.

  • Notable Projects: Mayor Wright Housing, Waialua Elementary School, Church of Holy Nativity, Hanauma Bay Improvements, Faculty Housing Buildings at Punahou School, Improvement District McCully Tract, Kaneohe Naval Air Station Rehabilitation Program

Wilson Associates, Inc.

Firm consisted of three divisions consisting of Architecture-Engineering, Civil Engineering and Business Research and Development. In 1960 Wilson Associates foresaw the need for a division dedicated to analyzing and evaluating contemplated projects before the initiation of detailed planning. This division was created to aid in determining the most efficient size and degree of operation, the best use of a site or the most profitable type of improvement. At this time, the firm had a staff of 35, including architects, structural engineers, civil engineers, mechanical engineers, and economists.

  • Notable Projects: Sand Island Bascule Bridge, Wilson Tunnels Ventilation System and Building, Waikiki Beach Master Plan, Waikiki Shell Outdoor Amphitheatre, State of Hawaii Department of Transportation Punchbowl Office Building, Waialae Viaduct and Interchange of Lunalilo Freeway, Honolulu International Airport Site Development

Wilson, Okamoto & Associates

Firm’s name was changed to provide recognition of professionalism and leadership to James B. Wilson, SE and Mineo Okamoto, SE and Associates in the architectural, civil, structural, and mechanical fields. The firm maintained a staff of 35.

  • Notable Projects: Kuhio Beach Improvements, Interstate Highway H-3 Pali Golf Course to Kaneohe Marine Corps Air Station/Mokapu Interchange, Maui War Memorial Swimming Pool, Lunalilo Freeway/Pali Highway Interchange, Waialae Viaduct and Interchange of Lunalilo Freeway

Wilson Okamoto & Associates, Inc.

The firm consisted of architecture, structural engineering, civil engineering and planning.  The firm grew from seven employees to approximately 60 employees. Gary Okamoto, son of Mineo Okamoto becomes President.

  • Notable Projects: Interstate H-3 Windward Viaduct, Hawaii Convention Center, UH Stan Sheriff Center, Grand Wailea Resort, Ko Olina Resort Master Plan, Hart Street Wastewater Pump Station and Force Main Replacement
