Innovation Block at Lot C Master Plan

The Innovation Block at “Lot C” in Kakaʻako is intended to create a focal point for the incubation and development of high-tech industries in Hawaiʻi and the Pacific Rim.  The Innovation Block encompasses approximately 5 acres and is on land owned by the Hawaiʻi Community Development Authority (HCDA). HCDA will partner with private interest(s) to develop the Innovation Block, including the Entrepreneur’s Sandbox (completed), Innovation Hale, a commercial tower, warehouse and retail facility, and Kewalo Incubation Center by establishing an economic engine at the project site.

The first phase consisted of the Entrepreneur’s Sandbox. The High Technology Development Corporation (HTDC) anchors this facility and shares the facility with other private entities.

As part of the development of the Master Plan, WOC assessed existing infrastructure and identified requirements, including water, sewer, drainage systems, to accommodate the project at full build out.  Also included consultation with various agencies and private utility companies.

Civil scope included preparation of construction plans for demolition, site layout, grading, water, sewer, utility, erosion control, details and specifications.

WOC prepared and processed an Environmental Assessment, Special Management Area Permit, and Traffic Impact Assessment Report
