The Department of Public Works, County of Maui converted the four-way intersection at Maui Lani Parkway and South Kamehameha Avenue to a single lane roundabout. The purpose of the roundabout is intended to make traffic flow more efficient and reduce delays at the intersection. Roundabout features include median islands, high-visibility signs, shorter crosswalks, and rectangular rapid-flashing beacons to alert drivers of pedestrians and dismounted cyclists.
Scope included preparation of a hydraulic report and preparation of construction drawings for drainage, erosion control, and traffic control. WOC also provided peer review services and construction administration services.
