Auahi Promenade, Phase 1

Wilson Okamoto Corporation was a consultant to Victoria Ward Limited/Howard Hughes Communities to design Auahi Promenade, Phase 1, the first phase in transforming Auahi Street into the signature thoroughfare, through the 60-acre Ward Village. Phase 1 entailed redesigning the former 56-ft four-lane roadway into a 44-ft, two-lane corridor from Kamake’e Street westward to the mid-block crossing connecting the mauka and makai Victoria Ward Parks. The new multi-modal corridor has buffered bike lanes, bus stops, and wider walkways with lush landscaping and shaded tree canopies, creating a spacious, safe, more vibrant, and inviting streetscape. WOC provided civil and transportation engineering services, including roadway design, drainage improvements, and comprehensive traffic control plans to manage construction in a busy urban setting. Completed in May 2025, this transformation promotes walkability, sustainability, and connectivity, supporting Ward Village’s vision of a community where people can live, work, and play.
